How can I moan about my sore back
after an afternoon’s gardening
when desperate Ukraine families are fleeing,
and breastmilk from hungry Somalian mothers has dried up
like their drought ridden countryside?
Families walking from familiarity and home
Other families unable to walk
Living under tarpaulin in makeshift cities
All waiting and wishing for comfort, for less pain
I am complicit in this unfair world, where resources are abundant
but not gifted by need
I cry out for justice, God/Godde,
Please hear my concerns and the concerns of kind people everywhere.
Transform hearts, mine included
It reminds me of that very first Easter
when a woman rushed from death’s holding place
to be a witness to a transformed and transforming existence
What will resurrection look like this time?
